Friday Favorite: Ashes to Ashes Giveaway!

Here at Found, we have a number of items that were ashtrays at one point in time. We, however, like to get a bit creative and find other purposes for said items. This one, "Ashes to Ashes" is gorgeous in its leafy gold nature and is front and center for this week's GIVEAWAY! So, what would you do with it? We were thinking a spare change holder, a place for jewelry, a candy dish, a key holder, etc. Just like last week, we want to hear what you think. So leave your comment and next Friday I will generate a number and that person will be the new owner of "Ashes to Ashes."

I think this beautiful dish would fit in perfectly in most settings. I did pick a few favorites though that I have posted below. Enjoy browsing!

I look forward to hearing from you!

About the ashtray: I would use it to eat my chinese food when I ordered takeout. for the place setting I would lay the chopsticks across the plate where the cigarette indentations are.

Is it gross to use an ashtray as a plate? what if I gave it a good thorough cleaning? Upon further reflection I think it might be gross. Just the thought, you know? Nevermind about the chinese food.

i would put it on my desk as a catch-all for paperclips, business cards and such. the gold would glam up my everyday workspace.

It would look perfect in my living room-- next to the flame stitch couch for a marathon session of Golden Girls. It doesn't need to hold anything... it's glamorous all on its own.

And, I think Blanche would wholeheartedly approve.

I've spent quite a bit of time trying to think of a new and creative plate purpose, actually am a bit stressed about it. Made me want to smoke a cigarette to relax, and use the plate for its original purpose...an ashtray.

Perfect as a temporary receptacle for a burnt match, after one lights the candles on a birthday cake.

The more I look at the dish/ashtray---and I can easily forget its original use---I can see it filled with glass ornaments on a table to add dazzle to the holiday decor. Or perhaps foil wrapped candies would find a home for the holidays. Either way it would be lovely on any table.
