Friday Favorite: A Found Collaboration

Happy Friday! It has been a wet week here in San Francisco, but the rain is finally dying down and the weekend is here. I am ready for a change from the dreary weather and I want to see the sun!

Change can be such a good thing, especially when it comes to your home. I was always (and still am) the type of person who loves to play with room layouts and accessory placement. Even with the same objects, a room can look drastically different.

This idea got me thinking about our items here at Found. Our pieces can be paired in so many different ways to accommodate various tastes and styles.

The following is a collaboration I created based on some of the pieces I love here!

Gilded Labarge (I would just lean it against the wall, as opposed to hanging it)...

pretty gold lamp...

and elegant storks (use to anchor fun colorful books)...

with a colorful counterpart to take a load off!

Have a great weekend!

Friday Favorite: Flapper girl

While at Found, I'm lucky enough to sit opposite a chandy that may make you think back to the 20's. Yes, we are talking flapper girls here, which got me thinking... how fun would it be to play the part for just one night?!?

My flapper girl decor, said chandy from Found...

My flapper girl uniform...

My destination, Bourbon & Branch, a true speakeasy experience...

And some fun reading for Saturday morning, after a great night out...

Happy weekend to you all!

Friday Favorite: Fantasyland

I am excited to be back here at Found after a fantastic long holiday with friends and family. Sometimes its hard to get back in to the swing of things, but being surrounded by inspiring pieces at Found makes it a bit easier! I do have to admit though, I began day dreaming about far away places where I could be on permanent vacay. I think maybe having one of these pieces permanently in my home would suffice though.

Palm Beach anyone?

Greece.... Spain... What do you think?

Italy? Fine by me!

Beautiful Japan.

I hope you all have a great weekend and do some day dreaming of your own.

Resolutions

Happy New Year!

I don't know about you guys but I am pretty excited for the fresh start that a new year brings. Like most of us, I attempt to quit my bad habits and resolve to learn some new skills to improve my life in one way or another. Rather than bore you with what I am giving up (not nearly scandalous enough), I thought I'd give you the scoop on the good habits I hope to take on this year.

First off. I'm finally going to take that painting class I have been saying I will do for so many years now. I have already mentioned my love for abstract paintings so I thought I'd learn how to do it. Its doubtful I'll ever be as good as Mr. Bachman, but at least I'll try.

Next. Never ever have I had success in nurturing plants. But this year is going to be different. I am going to create a mini-garden (albeit indoors) and tend to it with care. This bountiful tower or oranges and lemons will serve as my inspiration.

Third. I'm resolution-ing to pack my suitcases and see the world. I love traveling and last year I didn't do nearly enough. I pack light (you must!) and these little cuties will be essential for properly displaying my snappy suitcases at each destination. Compact enough to fit inside my suitcase....now that's traveling efficiently!

(This resolution will certainly come true with this trio)

Finally, I vow to organize my life.
It's a small gesture, I know, but I am starting with the books in my life. I love to read, I love the bookstore, and Amazon is my late night indulgence. Unfortunately, the stacks of books I've accumulated are becoming troublesome to my eye and perilous in the middle of the night. My first step will be to edit and donate the books that will be happier in the hands of our local library. For those worth keeping (most), they will be straightened and arranged, nestled between handsome bookends.

Here is to the new year, new beginnings and new directions!

dream client (for real this time)

it's wednesday night and guess what's not on? much to my dismay, so you think you can dance is on hiatus while season seven auditions take place. i miss the jazzy routines and stiff competition, and the very charming, very stylish host, cat deeley. seriously, if you're ever in need 0f grooming inspiration before an evening out, i suggest you check out some of her looks from the show.

unlike my previous dream clients, miss d. combines a great personality with great taste. week after week, she affably takes the stage with party-perfect looks that leave me wanting to run upstairs, curl my hair, and head to the studio 54 of yore. if by some miracle i was given the opportunity to spruce up her dressing room (i'm keeping my fingers crossed that she'll hire me to do just this) with items from found, i would start with the following:

this girly, glittery, party-girl of a lamp,

a bubbly vase for the flowers from her many fans,

and without a doubt, this gorgeous, gilded mirror.

somehow glamour storks seem appropriate for the long-legged lady,

as do graceful side chairs for resting stiletto-clad feet.

can you hear me, cat? i think we might be a designer/client match made in heaven. just give me that chance!
