As you may know by now, Tyler and I adore fashion and are often inspired by it in our designs. Revered fashion designers often credit their muses for each season's inspirations. I learned after visiting the DeYoung's exhibit on the career of Yves Saint Laurent that French beauty, Catherine Deneauve, was his muse throughout his career.
Although some may find Hermes to be quite a serious fashion house, one known more for their fancy handbags and patterned scarves, their muse was decidedly bohemian. Jane Birkin was awarded her own namesake bag she was so fabulous. Oh, to be that lucky.
Well, the 'House of Found' now has their own muses which we will draw endless inspiration from. Ours are not celebrities. No, they are not famous.
Although the portrait is quite intimate, we actually never had the good fortune of knowing these ladies but I imagine them to be forces to be reckoned with. We have have hung them behind our desk here at Found and I would like to get on a first name basis with them....any ideas? Our good friend and customer, Megan DeWeerdt, prefers 'Donna and Georgia'. I am on the fence with 'Celeste and Diane'. Tyler is into 'Anjelica and Gigi' (a pretty amazing combo, that last one).
Readers, we'd love to hear your thoughts on this.
